RGASS DEVELOPMENT

SightNav

SightNav is an RGASS development concept exploring practical navigation and guidance capability for fixed-wing unmanned aircraft systems.

Development concept
THE IDEA

Developed around real aircraft, not just theory.

SightNav forms part of the wider RGASS work around fixed-wing UAS, autopilot systems, mission planning and practical field operations.

The concept is being developed with an emphasis on useful capability, operator understanding and integration with real aircraft systems.

Because the project is still being developed and its intellectual-property position is being assessed, detailed architecture, algorithms and implementation information are intentionally not published here.

DEVELOPMENT PRINCIPLES
Fixed-Wing FocusDeveloped around the operating characteristics of efficient fixed-wing UAS.
System IntegrationConsidered as part of the complete aircraft, autopilot and mission system rather than an isolated component.
Practical TestingDevelopment is intended to be supported by real aircraft testing, flight data and repeatable evaluation.
Knowledge TransferThe RGASS philosophy remains that operators should understand the systems they depend on.
STATUS

Work in progress.

SightNav is not presented here as a finished commercial product. Public information will be expanded as development, testing and intellectual-property decisions progress.
